Register for May/June Classes: Registration is in progress for all May/June programs and classes. Youth programs include: Swim and Gymnastics lessons, Soccer, Basketball Skills and Drills for children ages 4-8 and three Summer Camps. Adult programs include: Water Therapy or Fitness classes, Healthy Bones and Balance, Strength Training, Diabetes Care Program, and more. Fifth, Sixth, Seventh Graders: On Saturday, April 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. there will be a Y Night for ALL Franklin County 5th, 6th, and 7th graders at the YMCA in Greenfield. Choose from basketball, dodgeball, dancing, and fun Game Room activities. Pizza will be available for 50 cents a slice. Parents should drop off and pick up at the rear entrance of the Y. A parent/guardian signed emergency release is required. $5 per student.

Youth Swim Lessons: Registration in in progress for the last session of youth swim lessons before summer. Classes run until June 15. There are Water Discovery classes for ages 6 months to 5 years with parents/grandparents, and child only lessons for 3-12 year olds. All children should have at least intermediate swim skills so they can be safer and enjoy aquatic activities their entire lives. See page 15 of the Y Brochure at Financial aid is available to cover up to 70% of all class fees.

Camp Sign-up Week: April 29 to May 3 the Y is offering 10% off all full price camp registrations. This is a great week for parents to plan their children’s summer with either a few weeks of fun or up to nine weeks of childcare. For boys and girls ages 4-14, the Y offers full and half day indoor sports camps and gymnastics camps, as well as the popular outdoor Camp Apex. See camp info at or call 413-773-3646 ext. 0.

Summer Childcare: The Y offers nine weeks of three summer camps for boys and girls ages 4-14. Parents can mix and match the three camps (sports, gymnastics, and Apex) to create a unique summer for their children. The Y also offers early care from 6-9 a.m. and late care from 4 to 6 p.m. Early care has free breakfast and all campers get a free lunch provided by the Greenfield Public Schools summer lunch program. Scuba Diving: The Y’s yearly Scuba Diving Course begins April 30. Class will meet for six weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9 pm. The course is for everyone over the age of ten with strong swimming skills. Dave MacDonald is a NAUI Certified Scuba instructor who has been teaching at the Y for over 20 years. Course fees are $350 for Y Members and $385 for Non Members. Call Sarah at 413-773-3646 ext. 427 for more information.

Adult Gymnastics Time: Tuesdays, 8 to 9 p.m. The Y’s gymnastics staff have opened up a new time slot for adults ages 15 and over to use the gymnastics center. Y staff will be present to help with guided stretching and conditioning plus offer pointers on gymnastics and floor exercises. The class meets Tuesdays from 8 to 9 p.m. in the Y’s top notch gymnastics center. The fees for eight classes are $32 for Y members and $40 for non-members.
