Montague Summer Camp: Registration has begun for our Summer Camp. Program dates: Monday, July 2, through Friday, Aug. 17. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Theme weeks, field trips, special events and trips to Laurel Lake. Fees: Discovery Program (Unity Park), Montague residents $75/child/week, nonresidents $90/child/week. Sports and adventures (Turners Falls High School), Montague residents $85/child/week, nonresidents $100/child/week.

Start Smart Sports Development Program: A developmentally appropriate introductory sports program for children 3 to 5 years old. Skills learned and developed in this program prepare children and their parents for organized sports in a fun, non-threatening environment. The sports skills developed in this program are: throwing, catching, batting and kicking. Parents must actively participate with their children. Runs July 10 through Aug. 14 (Tuesday evenings) from 6 to 7 p.m. at Unity Park, Turners Falls. Fees: Montague residents $35, nonresidents $40, (nonresidents — where noted — will be placed on a waiting list until the week before the start of each program, and will be placed on the active roster if space allows).

Skateboarding Lessons for 6 to 9 year olds, and 10 and up. June 26 to July 19. (Mondays and Wednesdays). Times: 6 to 9 year old group at 5:30 p.m.; 10 and up group at 6:30 p.m. 8 participants per group. Held at Unity Skate Park. Fee: Montague residents, $40; nonresidents, $45. An opportunity to learn how to skateboard or to sharpen your skills.

Night Skates at the Unity Park Skate Park, Thursday, June 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. (National Go Skateboarding Day). We would like to thank members of the Friends of Unity Skate Park, Let It Ride Skate Shop and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for making these Night Skates possible. Refreshments will be provided with proceeds benefiting the Skate Park.

Unity Park Community Garden Events: On Sunday, June 10, join us for a Summer Kick-off Celebration, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Celebrate the beginning of another growing season at the Unity Park Community Garden. Free. Plant Swap, gardening talks, kids events, music, and more throughout the day.
