Open house to consider senior housing designs

SOUTH DEERFIELD — The ad hoc Senior Housing Committee is welcoming residents to an open house Thursday night to get a feel for what the community wants in a potential senior housing project in South Deerfield.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall and is hosted in partnership with Austin Design and Berkshire Design Group. A brief presentation will open the meeting, followed by breakout groups where attendees can get a closer look at the proposed plans and share comments with neighbors, town officials and the consultants.

Deerfield is seeking to emulate Sunderland’s Sanderson Place project by finding a non-profit developer to build a senior housing complex on several parcels of land around the Town Hall, which will join several other projects in a town campus project.
