Open house planned for potential Senior Center

SUNDERLAND — As the town continues to examine the former Sinauer Associates/Oxford University Press building as a potential South County Senior Center location, it has scheduled an open house on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The 12,000-square-foot building, located at 23 Plumtree Road, is listed for sale by Colebrook Realty Services for $1.95 million and a town appraisal has it valued at $1.8 million, which is the maximum the town can pay if it chooses to pursue the building. If purchased, the intention is to lease a good portion of the property out to the South County Senior Center and then use the rest as municipal office space.

Residents are encouraged to stop by the building during the open house to tour it, ask town officials questions and provide their feedback. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact townadmin@townofsunderland.us.
