Holy Family Roman Catholic Church hosting electronics recycling event

SOUTH DEERFIELD — The Holy Family Roman Catholic Church will host an electronics recycling event on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will be held in the church’s parking lot, 29 Sugarloaf St., and residents from all towns are welcome to bring electronics, appliances, items with a plug or batteries, as well as bicycles.

The event will be held rain or shine and cash payment for recyclables is preferred, but checks will be accepted for payments over $30.

Vaccine clinic set for Deerfield Elementary School

SOUTH DEERFIELD — A pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be held at Deerfield Elementary School on Friday, Aug. 26, from 3:30 to 7 p.m.

Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be available for all people 6 months and older. Booster shots are also available. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments can be made at bit.ly/3pkblgw.

Watermelon Wednesdays hosting Culomba

WHATELY — Watermelon Wednesdays will host Conway-based folk group Culomba at the West Whately Chapel on Aug. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Culomba draws on American folk music, as well as the traditions of Georgia, Corsica, the Balkans and Ukraine. Tickets, which cost $18, can be purchased at watermelonwednesdays.com.
