Deadline nears for Shelburne Cultural Council grants

SHELBURNE — Those seeking grants from the Shelburne Cultural Council have until Monday, Oct. 16, to apply online for grants that support art and cultural activities for Shelburne residents.

To apply online, interested school groups, individuals and other organizations should go to: www.mass-culture.org.

The mission of the Shelburne Cultural Council is to help pay for a broad range of cultural events that enrich the community life of Shelburne Falls, Shelburne and the surrounding area, according to Cultural Council Chairwoman Constance Clarke. “We encourage local cultural educators and artists to develop and share their talents through programs and events that appeal to the diverse interests of residents of all ages,” she said.

As Shelburne readies for its 250th-year anniversary in 2018, this year’s priorities include encouraging collaboration and strong marketing strategies, first-time applicants and original concepts.
