COLRAIN — One student was transported to the hospital for a minor injury after a school bus struck a bridge on Foundry Village Road over the North River on Tuesday.

The driver lost control of the bus at around 8:45 a.m. after getting a flat tire, according to State Police Sgt. Gregory Jones. State Police troopers were dispatched from the Shelburne Falls barracks, alongside local EMS personnel.

Jones said one student was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution, and the other students on the bus were transferred to another bus.

Efforts to reach a representative of the bus company and the school were unsuccessful as of Tuesday afternoon.
