SOUTH DEERFIELD — Santa Claus is coming to town, in style.

Jolly old St. Nick is scheduled to arrive at Yankee Candle Village in South Deerfield via helicopter at 10 a.m. on Saturday as part of “Santa’s Arrival,” a family-friendly event slated to begin at 9 a.m.

“Santa’s Arrival is one of our favorite events of the year and is a tradition for so many families annually,” said Wade Bassett, director of sales and operations for Yankee Candle Villages. “It gives me chills every time I witness the landing, and to see so many happy families is beyond special. We are always super proud to be able to offer such an amazing experience to our guests and very much look forward to being one small part of what makes this season so memorable.”

According to a flier from Yankee Candle, there will be free holiday wagon rides from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be free reindeer antler hats for children (while supplies last), and hot cocoa and cookies available for purchase at the Hillside Pizza cafe inside Yankee Candle.

A photographer with Andrea York Photography will also be present from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to take pictures of children with Santa for a fee. There will also be festive sing-alongs with elves.
