Route 116 in Ashfield closing for repairs

ASHFIELD — Route 116 will be fully closed near the intersection with Route 112 from 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11 to allow for repairs, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

The following detours are in place:

■Eastbound traffic will be directed southbound on Spruce Corner Road to Route 9 eastbound and will continue to Route 112 northbound.

■Westbound traffic will be directed southbound on Route 112 to Route 9 westbound and will continue northbound on Spruce Corner Road.

Drivers are advised to expect delays, reduce speed and use caution. All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be impacted due to an emergency, according to MassDOT.
