The Rolling Thunder Vermont Chapter 1 motorcycle club recently donated $2,000 to the Gardner-based Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, an organization that provides support to military veterans and their families in need of services.
Rolling Thunder Vermont Chapter 1 Vice President Fred Blanchard was on hand Feb. 23 to present a check to the center’s Executive Director Stephanie Marchetti.
Rolling Thunder is a nonprofit motorcycle club dedicated to honoring veterans by raising money for donations through pancake breakfasts, raffles and calendar sales. The nearest branch of Rolling Thunder, based in Brattleboro, Vermont, includes Western Massachusetts members.
The Feb. 23 donation was made in memory of Athol resident Marie Conlin, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Rolling Thunder, who died on Dec. 2 at age 70.
