Preps: NMH boys basketball rallies in second half to defeat Worcester Academy in NEPSAC AA quarters

The Northfield Mount Hermon boys basketball team was forced to battle back against No. 5 Worcester Academy on Wednesday in the NEPSAC Class AA quarterfinals. 

The third-seeded Hoggers trailed at the half but stormed back in the second to earn a 61-53 victory in Gill. 

NMH will now take on top-seeded Bradford Christian Academy in the semifinals on Saturday at 3 p.m. 

It was a tough day on the ice for both the Deerfield boys and girls hockey teams in the NEPSAC tournament on Wednesday. 

The DA boys hockey team held the No. 4 seed in the NEPSAC Large School bracket and hosted No. 5 Kent School in the quarters on Wednesday. Kent put in a goal in the first, added a goal early in the second and controlled the game from there to pull away with a 5-1 victory over the Big Green. 

Kent advances to play No. 8 Berkshire School, who upset top-seeded Noble and Greenough, 8-5. 

It was a similar story for the DA girls. The Big Green earned the No. 6 seed in the NEPSAC Elite division and traveled to Andover to take on Phillips Andover on Wednesday, but were unable to find the back of the net. 

Phillips tallied four times to run away with a 4-0 victory in the quarterfinals. Phillips Andover advances to face No. 2 Williston, who beat Tabor, 8-1, on Wednesday.
