Greenfield, Aug. 9

4:26 p.m. — Police removed at least one needle at Beacon Field, near the child’s play area.

7:40 p.m. — A man overdosed on heroin at the Sandri Stopmart on Federal Street. Police responded to the scene but did not have to give him Narcan because he reportedly came out of the overdose on his own.

Greenfield, Aug. 11

2:20 p.m. — A walk-in reported her backpack was stolen while she was cleaning a house on Stevens Street. She claimed she had left the bag on the side of the house while she cleaned and it was gone when she left at around 4 p.m. She stated the backpack contained four prescriptions including suboxone and clonidine.

4:35 p.m. — A disturbance reported on Deerfield Street resulted in the arrest of Anthony J. Allen, 40, of Miles Street in Greenfield. Allen was arrested on protective custody charges and for failing to register as a sex offender.

4:40 p.m. — A caller on Barton Road reported the driver of a Honda CRV struck two mailboxes, backed into a tree and left toward Country Club Road, leaving the vehicle’s bumper behind.

5:17 p.m. — A caller from Keegan Lane reported his black Cannondale street bicycle with a gel seat was stolen from his porch that morning.

Greenfield, Aug. 12

12:20 a.m. — A traffic stop near the intersection of Maple Street and Maple Lane involving a blue 2003 Buick Regal resulted in the arrest of Jack E. O’Connor, 22, of Briar Cliff Drive in Westfield. O’Connor was arrested on charges of failure to stop/yield, weaving between marked lanes, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than 0.08 percent, and negligent operation of a vehicle.

Greenfield, Aug. 14 

12:56 p.m. — Police responded to an overdose on Beech Street. First responders administered a third and fourth dose of Narcan. The fourth dose revived the person.

Montague, Aug. 14

7:17 p.m. — Police responded to a report of fresh spray paint “all over the dug outs” at Sheffield Elementary, according to the police logs. At the time the paint was still wet. Police identified what children were involved with the incident.

Montague, Aug. 15

3:24 p.m. — A male reportedly tried to break into the laundry machine containing all the money, at the Powertown Apartments on Avenue A. The caller reported damage to the machine.
