Greenfield, April 8

10:51 a.m. – Man at the John W. Olver Transit Center reports threat. Caller reports his ex’s new boyfriend and mother started yelling at him and the boyfriend threatened to burn down the caller’s house with him and his children inside. Caller says this is an on-going issue. Caller does not believe it will actually happen, but wanted it documented.

2:43 p.m. – Accident with injuries at the intersection of 60 Mohawk Trail and 136 River St. involving a blue 2004 Honda Civic and a black 1998 Lexus ES.

3:20 p.m. – Accident with no injuries at the Friendly’s restaurant at 200 Mohawk Trail involving a silver 2017 Toyota Tacoma and a red 1998 Ford Ranger.

3:27 p.m. – Caller on Shattuck Street reports she found a parrot in a nearby park. Based off the description of the bird, it is almost certainly the same missing parrot reported in a previous call. Caller lives a few houses down from the missing bird’s owner. Caller was given name and address of the parrot’s owner and she stated she will return the bird to the owner.

3:42 p.m. – Report of a woman shoplifting at Whitney Hill Antiques at 122 Main St. Woman reportedly left and headed west wearing a dark parka and carrying two yellow plastic cups. Caller reported that one of the items stolen was a meat grinder made of metal. A small plate and gargoyle candle holder also may have been taken. Police called and spoke with the merchant who rents a booth at Whitney Hill Antiques and she confirmed the meat grinder was her item, though she would need to see the red plate to be sure about that item. Greenfield Police Officer Patrick Merrigan stopped a woman on the street matching the description of the shoplifter. Woman found to have items, one with a price tag. She said that item was in a box labeled “Free” on the side of the road, though she did not know the location. Stella Theresa Isabella, age 26, of 79 Prospect St., Apt. 2, in Greenfield faces two counts of shoplifting by asportation.

11:30 p.m. – Employee at McDonald’s at 285 Federal St. reports an intoxicated man with an open container of alcohol in the restaurant’s back lobby. Man described as white, roughly 50 years of age, wearing a white shirt and jeans. Man reportedly spilled beer on the floor prior to police arrival. Man described as very difficult to understand due to intoxication and self-described Seroquel use. Man cooperative with police. Says he is in town for detox and cannot get in until 10 a.m. Man was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center by AMR ambulance.

Greenfield, April 9

2:29 a.m. – Third-party caller requests help getting his friend out of handcuffs. Reporting party states a woman is the one in handcuffs and they have lost the key. Police released the woman from the handcuffs placed on her by a former corrections officer.

Montague, April 8

9:39 a.m. – Officer Justin Moody flagged down by a citizen reporting a mattress dumped on Lake Pleasant Road. Department of Public Works will send someone to pick it up.

9:32 p.m. – Report of assault and battery between two residents at Farren Care Center in Turners Falls.

Montague, April 10

1:38 p.m. — Tangible Bliss on 3rd Street was visited at about 1:30 p.m. by a woman selling jewelry, who then stole the owner’s cell phone from the counter and left the shop. She was described as being blonde with pale skin; about 30 years old; about 5 feet, six inches.
