Greenfield, Aug. 30

12:09 p.m. — Homestead Avenue caller reports blue Jeep was vandalized, with scratches to all surfaces. Police spoke with victim’s neighbors.

5:46 p.m. — Report of a break-and-entry into home on Cheapside sometime since Saturday. Rear window of home was broken, Ryobi generator is missing.

Montague, Aug. 30

6:19 p.m. — Report of an ATV driver with a rider, no helmet, in the Elm Street vicinity going at a high rate of speed. Bryce O. Lapointe, 29, of Elm St. was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Greenfield, Aug. 31

1:15 a.m. — Robert F. Caquette of Northampton was arrested on the Mohawk Trail, during a traffic stop, on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, a second offense, and driving a vehicle after the right to operate was revoked.

2:10 a.m. — Drug overdose reported on Lilac Court; subject given Narcan and transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

2:46 p.m. — Report that a wheel and tire were stolen on Leyden Road sometime during the night.

4:13 p.m. — Shoplifting reported at Big Y Foods. Under investigation.

Montague, Aug. 31

3:16 p.m. — Suspicious package reported; caller said an unattended suitcase was in a rest area of Federal Street. Police officer located a person carrying the suitcase, who said it was empty when he found it. Inside was a name and phone number. Police tried to contact person, but the phone number had been disconnected.

3:48 p.m. — Report that a juvenile had taken a set of keys at the Turners Falls High School. Officer spoke with the juvenile and his father.

4:03 p.m. — Report of a truck striking a utility pole at School and West Street. Pole was struck twice. Eversource notified. Driver, Herbert E. Phillips III, 25, of Amherst was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of liquor and of negligent operation of a vehicle.

Greenfield, Sept. 1

10:21 a.m. — Report of female screaming at traffic and passersby —“not unusual, but out of control today” — on Chapman Street. Gone on arrival.

10:33 a.m. — Shoplifting reported at CVS Pharmacy, Federal Street. Women took two bags of cosmetics and went outside. Employees got her to come back into store with merchandise, but she fled before police arrived.

Greenfield, Sept. 2

9:29 a.m. — A red Mongoose bicycle was stolen from a shelter on Main Street between 2 and 6 a.m. The bike had a lock on it, but it was cut.
