COLRAIN — A 34-year-old woman who self-quarantined after arriving from Philadelphia on April 4 has disappeared and her mother is appealing to the public to help find her.

Caroline “Morgan” Bren was last seen with a duffel bag on Route 2 in Shelburne walking toward Greenfield at roughly 7 p.m. on April 7, according to her mother, Kate Kerivan. She is described as standing 6-foot-2, weighing 130 pounds, and having short brown hair, brown eyes and a lip piercing. Bren is probably wearing a black shirt and jeans with a silver belt buckle.

Kerivan said her daughter has a history of mental health issues and is suicidal. She also said Bren recently underwent a major operation, which makes finding her even more important.

Kerivan said her daughter, who is originally from this area and attended college in Amherst and Vermont, had been living in Philadelphia for several years. She decided to move back to Western Massachusetts because the COVID-19 pandemic had made it extremely difficult to find a job. Bren’s stated plan was to self-quarantine with a friend in Colrain for two weeks before moving in with her mother in Ashfield.

According to the Colrain Police Department’s Facebook page, no new leads developed after its officers and members of the Berkshire Mountain Search and Rescue team conducted an extensive search of the area surrounding Bren’s last-known residence on Saturday.

Anyone who sees Bren or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Colrain Police Department via the Shelburne Control dispatch center at 413-625-8200. Additionally, Kerivan can be reached at home at 413-628-3339 on her cellphone at 413-270-6171.
