Police Logs: Aug. 8 to Aug. 10, 2017

Greenfield, Aug. 8

11:30 a.m. — Greenfield Department of Public Works pulled a safe out of the corner of the pond in Highland Park. Nothing of value was found inside the safe.

4:45 p.m. — A purse with $1,000 cash inside of it was reported stolen at Home Depot on Mohawk Trail.

5:20 p.m. — A woman, possibly in her 70s, with short, white hair kicked a person’s dog at the dog park at Green River Park. A 13-month-old Boston Terrier stood up and placed its paws on the woman’s legs. She then yelled something along the lines of get this “nuisance away from me,” according to the police log. She then proceeded to knee and then kick the dog in the chest.

5:59 p.m. — Police arrested Sarah M. O’Lari, 41, of Congress Street in Orange on a warrant.

Greenfield, Aug. 9

9:40 a.m. — Report of tire slashed on parked vehicle sometime during the night on Conway Street.

11:35 a.m. — Caller reports hitting a deer with vehicle on Interstate 91, mile-marker 40.2. State Police to handle incident.

1:35 p.m. — Report of purse-snatching; caller at Big Y Plaza said she put her purse on passenger seat, while putting groceries inside vehicle. Heavy-set, short white man blocked her from closing car door, grabbed purse and drove off in small green car toward main entrance.

1:46 p.m. — Fraud report. Caller at Franklin First Federal Credit Union reports group cashing bad checks.

8:03 p.m. — Caller at Greenfield Pumping Station says a friend’s cell phone and wallet were stolen. Victim had left them in shirt on a ledge. Unable to locate suspect.

Greenfield, Aug. 10

11:13 a.m. — Accident with possible injuries. A vehicle and a motorcycle collided in the Big Y Plaza. Caller reported no injuries; but one person was taken by ambulance to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
