Northfield police seek info

Several local towns are reporting break-ins.

Northfield Police are seeking any information regarding a home break-in on School Street, sometime between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 25. Anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to contact Northfield Police through Shelburne Control Dispatch at 413-625-8200.

They are also asking residents to secure their own property and report suspicious activities to the police.

Car break-ins reported in Hawley, Buckland

Perhaps there was a time in rural Buckland and Hawley when people could leave vehicles unlocked overnight. But not any more.

Hawley town officials say several parked vehicles on Pond Road, Forget Road and Buckland Road were reportedly broken into overnight the weekend of Oct. 21-22, and items of value were taken. All the vehicles were unlocked.

“We urge all residents who are missing items from their cars to be suspicious of the same type of activity and to report the incident to the State Police in Shelburne Falls and to the Hawley Town Office,” Administrative Assistant Cass Nawrocki said.

In Buckland, the Police Dept. reported on Facebook that three unlocked parked cars on Clesson Brook Road were broken into and items taken. “Please be sure to lock your vehicles at all times and remove valuables from the vehicle,” the department said.
