MILLERS FALLS — While the village may be a far cry from Hollywood, owners of the newly opened Hideaway Salon & Studio aim for you to “leave here feeling like you are a celebrity.”

Located at 41 East Main St. in a space that formerly housed Rustic Romance’s “The Depot,” The Hideaway enjoyed a soft opening on April 1. The combined hair salon and photography studio is now preparing for its grand opening on Saturday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., during which the public is invited to meet the owners, win door prizes and enjoy light refreshments.

Hairdresser Lindsey Savinski and photographer Melissa Leete, who co-own The Hideaway, collaborated on projects around Franklin County for more than seven years before deciding they wanted to run a business together. The two share a passion for “making people feel good about themselves,” their website states.

“Then, in early 2023, when their dream space became available in their dream location, they just knew it was a sign that they needed to make this dream a reality,” the website continues.

Savinski, a veteran hairdresser who last worked at Transitions Hair Salon in Greenfield, and stylist Seana Pitts will provide haircuts, styling, color and texture services, facial waxing and makeup application. Meanwhile, Leete, who founded M3G Photography, will offer photo shoots backed by a set customized with interchangeable backgrounds.

“I believe we have a very unique opportunity to offer people the chance to … really feel good about themselves as they get ready for their life events,” Savinski said.

She added that while Millers Falls being a stomping ground for stardom might not be your first thought, the “up-and-coming little town” is home to people just as deserving of shine.

“I think no matter where you are, people just want to feel really good about themselves and feel good about the important moments in their lives,” she said. “Whether you’re in a big city or a small town, I think it’s important to let the important things about yourself shine through.”
