NORTHFIELD — ’Tis the season of craft fairs and holiday concerts, with four organizations teaming up to offer a full day of holiday shopping in Northfield on Saturday.

“The day has a classic Northfield feel, from toys and fun to fine art and music,” organizer and Northfield Kiwanis Club Vice President Steve Stoia said in a statement.

The Kiwanis Club’s annual holiday craft fair and raffle will be held in the gymnasium and cafeteria of Northfield Elementary School, 104 Main St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The raffle will include themed baskets with crafts, food items, holiday libations and toys. Vendors will include Severance’s Maple Products, Sharon Burke, Catherine LaFleur, Michelle Lawler and Adria Lowry Unique Floral Design. The school’s Parent-Teacher Organization will serve food in the cafeteria as well.

Also on Saturday, Tom White’s 41st Holiday Pottery Sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 205 Winchester Road. In addition to shopping, hot cider will be available for customers.

Fiddleheads Gallery, meanwhile, will offer a sale featuring a 20% discount on hand-crafted jewelry, scarves and art at 105 Main St. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

And finally, the Da Camera Singers will present a concert of traditional December holiday songs ranging from the 1600s to present at 4 p.m. at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 147 Main St. Tickets are not required, but donations are welcome.

According to Stoia, the day’s programming represents a modified return to the once popular “Special Day in Northfield,” which he and his wife, Joan, produced for 15 years before the pandemic.

“Several of the businesses and organizations hosting their events on Dec. 2 are still here,” he said. “And, with the addition of a Northfield 350th event by Da Camera on the same day, it made sense to highlight Northfield as a shopping destination for each event on that day.”
