Village Fair in North Orange

The Community Church of North Orange and Tully will hold its annual Village Fair on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Goddard Park.

There will be tables featuring handmade items, baked goods, toys, fresh produce, attic treasures, raffles, heifer project and outside vendors with unique and special items. The Farley String Band will perform from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The band, which began about seven years ago, is comprised of 11 local musicians playing traditional folk and fiddle tunes, with many of those tunes originally coming from Ireland and Scotland. This entertainment is funded in part by the state and Orange Cultural Councils. Prior to the opening, breakfast will be served in the church dining hall, which is fully accessible. Breakfast casseroles, cereal, fruit cup, coffee and juice will be available.

Other notable events include the Village Fair UnFair 5K Race, which will step off at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hot dogs, pulled pork and chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, desserts and beverages will be served. The church is at the corner of 48 Main St. and 4 Creamery Hill Road in North Orange.
