Students from The Dance Studio of Orange will take center stage Friday and Saturday for their June recitals, performing “Cinderella” and “It’s The Little Things” at Northfield Mount Hermon School.

Friday’s show is at 11 a.m. and the Saturday show is at 4 p.m, both in the Rhodes Arts Center’s Chiles Theater, 19 Purple Road in Gill.

According to a press release from the studio, Act I will feature ballet students in excerpts from “Cinderella,” with Lilliana Fellows as Cinderella, Marlena Niedzwiecki and Ceara Zhang as the stepsisters, Cadence Spencer as the fairy godmother, Marissa Hastings as the winter fairy, Sierra Richard as the spring fairy, Abby Henne as the summer fairy, Kaitlyn Murray as the autumn fairy, Adelyn Seney as the stepmother, Anna Picard as the prince, and Jade Bailey as the royal courtier.

Act II will feature jazz, tap, modern, acro and hip-hop. The dances explore how the little things in life influence everyone, like catching a raindrop, running into an old friend, slipping on ice and more.

“It truly takes a village to produce a dance recital. I couldn’t do this without the incredibly creative and professional work of our faculty, costuming team and technical team,” said Ingrid Schatz, owner of The Dance Studio. “I am so grateful to all of the studio parents who support their children in studying dance and I am so proud of all of our students who work so hard all year.”

Tickets are $20. Additionally, the Victoria Rose Scholarship Fund (VRSF) will be selling flowers at both recitals as a fundraiser. VRSF provides scholarships to study at The Dance Studio to deserving students who would not otherwise be able to afford dance.
