GREENFIELD — A few buildings in the Olive Street neighborhood were without water Tuesday morning while town workers fixed a leak in the water line, said Greenfield Department of Public Works Field Superintendent Paul Raskevitz.

The leak was at a “T” in the water line where the piping was old, Raskevitz said. The Department of Public Works shut off the water to “a few accounts” for two or three hours while the hole was backfilled and compacted, Raskevitz added. The work was completely finished by 1:30 p.m.

Raskevitz said that the leak may have been caused by the construction that has been happening on Olive Street, but he couldn’t be sure.

He said the incident was “nothing major, very minor.”
