Police: Teen caught driving 101 mph on Route 10

NORTHFIELD — A teenage Vermont driver was arrested after driving 101 miles per hour on Route 10 Tuesday evening, police say.

The driver, a 17​-​year old man from Vernon, Vt., was without a valid license and transporting an alcoholic beverage, according to a statement on the Northfield Police Department’s Facebook page. An underage passenger in the vehicle was found with alcohol.

In addition, the vehicle’s license plates were taken from another car, attached illegally, police say.

The passenger, also from Vermont, was also arrested and charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage. The vehicle was towed.
