Orange Senior Citizens Club holding meeting

ORANGE — The Orange Senior Citizens Club is scheduled to meet at the Orange Senior Center, 62 Cheney St., at 1 p.m. on Thursday.

This is a regular monthly business meeting, and all members are invited to attend. Guests are always invited, and new members are always welcome. Any local resident age 50 or older is eligible to become a member. Dues, payable at this meeting, are $5 per year.

At last month’s meeting at the Orange Historical Society, members and guests enjoyed lunch on the porch provided by volunteers from the society. This is expected to become an annual gathering.

A business meeting followed lunch. Included in the meeting were the secretary’s reading of the minutes of the June 1 meeting, the treasurer’s report for the month and reports from chairpersons of various committees.

According to Linda Knechtel, program committee chair, there is no scheduled program for Thursday’s meeting, but the time following it will be used to finalize plans for the Apple Harvest Fair.

Fair Chair Judy Rowe is urging members to sell raffle tickets for the 120 Club drawing. The Apple Harvest Fair is scheduled for Sept. 23 at the Senior Center. There will be a center table, a food table, a craft table and an attic treasures/Christmas table. The donations for the center table are to be new items only and may be given to Sandi Eklund to hold until the day of the fair.
