Library offering cooking tutorial

NEW SALEM — The Friends of the New Salem Public Library plan to team up with Nalini Goordial, of Kitchen Wizardry, and invite the public to learn to make chickpea tikka masala with chapati flatbread, green chutney and pumpkin payasam.

The tutorial is set to be live on Zoom at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9. The lesson will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

A packet of spices, the atta/flour and the recipe will be available. The Friends will cover the cost of this spice pack for the first 10 people to sign up and request it. College, career fair
held at Mahar

ORANGE — The Ralph C. Mahar Regional School gymnasium was the site of a college and career fair for all high school students on April 27.

Students were able to visit nearly 30 booths with employers ranging from Mount Wachusett Community College and the Massachusetts State Police to local companies such as L.S. Starrett and Quabbin Valley Healthcare. Laura Robinson of MassHire was instrumental in collaborating with the vendors.
