Meet-and-greet with Warwick Selectboard candidate

WARWICK — Patty Lazok, who is running for Selectboard in the Nov. 6 election, is holding a meet-and-greet at Linrose Farm, 145 Shepardson Road, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Lazok is running for the Selectboard seat previously held by Dawn Magi, who resigned in July. The term Lazok is running for will fill out the duration of Magi’s term, which ends in May. At that point there will be another election.

School Committee candidates forum

NORTHFIELD — A public question-and-answer forum with the candidates running for School Committee will be held at Pioneer Valley Regional School on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. The forum is organized by the Franklin County League of Women Voters, a group that is nonpartisan and does not support or oppose any of the candidates.

There are eight candidates running for School Committee. League President Marie Gauthier said that so far five have responded to invitations to the forum. The only one of the five who cannot come to the forum is Karen O’Neil, who is running unopposed for one of the two open seats in Leyden.

The forum will be moderated by State Rep. Paul Mark, D-Peru. Two panelists from the League of Women Voters who do not live in the Pioneer district will ask the questions. Audience members may submit questions on note cards throughout the forum. Those questions will be screened to ensure they do not target specific candidates.
