Outreach coordinator available Sept. 19

NORTHFIELD — Outreach Coordinator Matt Aversa is available through the Northfield Senior Center on the third Tuesday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m. to help with fuel assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) applications, electric bills, veterans’ questions, Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone (SHINE) applications and other matters. This month’s outreach clinic is on Sept. 19.

According to the Northfield Senior Center’s September newsletter, the outreach coordinator position is funded thanks to a grant awarded to the Bernardston Senior Center from the Massachusetts Councils on Aging and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs. Senior Center starts Photography Camera Club

BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Senior Center’s new Photography Camera Club will meet on Friday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m.

“We welcome photographers of all skill levels using iPhones, point-and-shoot, compact or DSLR,” the Senior Center’s September newsletter reads. “We fully support beginners as well as advanced photographers in a no-stress, idea exchange environment. Bring your favorite photos.”

‘Keys Bags Names Words’ to be screened at Senior Center

BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Senior Center will screen the documentary “Keys Bags Names Words” during the Caregivers Support Group meeting on Monday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m.

The documentary introduces the viewer to people living with dementia and their caregivers, and includes information from doctors about what can be done to support brain health and prevent cognitive decline.
