Eversource prepping for charging stations

LEYDEN — Municipal Assistant Michele Giarusso expects Eversource will be in town this week to work on utility poles that will be linked to two ChargePoint electric vehicle charging stations that are being installed at the Town Offices and Town Hall.

In February, the Selectboard signed a five-year software maintenance contract for the charging stations. The total cost is $27,220.

These are the first charging stations to be installed in Leyden and they could be operational by May.

Energy Committee holding solar talk

NORTHFIELD — The Energy Committee will provide residents with an overview of solar aggregation and share information on the Inflation Reduction Act during a presentation at Dickinson Memorial Library on Friday, April 14, at 5:30 p.m.

“It will be a very lively discussion,” Energy Committee Co-Chair Judith Wagner recently told the Selectboard.

Claire Chang of Greenfield Solar will also speak.

Board members to help develop SRO agreement

NORTHFIELD — The Selectboard recently assigned members Alex Meisner and Heath Cummings to work with Police Chief Jon Hall on developing a memorandum of understanding for the next school resource officer for Pioneer Valley Regional School.
