Bernardston sets Town Meeting date

BERNARDSTON — Annual Town Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Bernardston Elementary School gymnasium.

Town Coordinator Louis Bordeaux said the gym floor will be marked to guide social distancing, and all attendees should wear face coverings.

“At this point, it’s looking like a relatively short meeting,” Bordeaux said.

The meeting will focus on approving the fiscal year 2021 budget. Bordeaux said the town will hold a Special Town Meeting, likely in the fall depending on the status of the pandemic at that time, to discuss and vote on other matters of town business.

The Finance Committee and Selectboard will meet on June 15 to finalize the budget. Then, Bordeaux said, the Selectboard will approve and sign the warrant during its June 17 meeting.

Soapbox Derby canceled
