RSVP for ham supper by Aug. 9

BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Senior Center will host the Bernardston Kiwanis Club’s ham supper at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13. A cocktail hour starts at 5 p.m.

The event will feature music provided by Chase’s DJ Service. Those interested in attending can RSVP by calling 413-648-5413 by Aug. 9.

Brain health council holding talk at Senior Center

BERNARDSTON — The Global Council on Brain Health, brought together by AARP, will provide information on how lifestyle may impact brain health, along with recommendations focusing on people’s ability to think and reason as they age, during a program at the Bernardston the Senior Center on Monday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m.

The Global Council on Brain Health is an independent collaborative of scientists, health professionals, scholars and policy experts working in areas of health related to brain cognition.

Make greeting cards with Barb King

BERNARDSTON — Barb King will lead a greeting card making class at the Bernardston Senior Center at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

For $5, seniors can make two professional, colorful cards.

Bucky Callery to lead stenciling class

BERNARDSTON — Bucky Callery, from the Deerfield Valley Art Association, will hold a stenciling class at the Bernardston Senior Center on Friday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m.

Most supplies will be available. The class costs $5.

Speech pathologist to lead program on memory loss

NORTHFIELD — Baystate Franklin Medical Center Speech Pathologist Amanda Bernhard will speak about memory loss, age, and recognizing the signs of cognitive impairment and dementia from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Northfield Senior Center.

LifePath program director to discuss long-term care facilities

BERNARDSTON — LifePath Program Director Trevor Boeding will lead an informational talk on long-term care facilities and the rights of those living in nursing homes or rest homes at the Bernardston Senior Center at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26.

Two Happy Feet walks planned for August

NORTHFIELD — As part of the Happy Feet walking program, seniors can meet at the Satan’s Kingdom parking area off of Old Vernon Road at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, to walk on paved roads and observe the birds and ponds created by beaver dams.

On Monday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m., seniors can walk along Main Street from the Northfield Senior Center. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
