TURNERS FALLS — “Maple Traditions in Northeastern Native Foods” is the name of a talk Saturday at 1 p.m. at Great Falls Discovery Center, 2 Avenue A.

Leah Hopkins and Elizabeth Perry will demonstrate and teach about the various traditional Native American cooking methods of the coastal Northeast. They will share the recipes and cooking techniques of their families, describe their cultural perspectives on these dishes and speak to the historical influence that northeastern native food has on modern cuisine.

The talk and demonstration comes under what the Nolumbeka Project is calling the “Full Worm Moon Gathering.” Visit www.nolumbekaproject.org for more information.
