It isn’t just Donald Trump they despise. I feel the lordly elites of Franklin County and beyond are scrambling to land a spot on the Recorder’s opinion page, simply to devalue the many Americans who support or voted for the president.

Many suggest that there is something wrong with us. That we are racist, misinformed, uneducated and even stupid. Many of these letters employ narrow perspectives, manipulated truths and cherry-picked data. All in an attempt to convince the reader that their viewpoint is valid.

The only thing missing is an argument for the other candidate. The “Ragin’ Cajun” James Carville said, “By running Harris in 2024, Democrats started their seventh string quarterback.” He was being kind. She should never have been on the team to begin with. The only consistent message coming from the left was, we hate Donald Trump and love abortion.

To be quite frank, Kamala Harris came across as inauthentic, unlikeable and weak, without a clear vision for the country. We were told that she was going to create an opportunity economy, but failed to explain what that was and how she was going to do it. Harris gave very little access to the media, and when she did she often left viewers puzzled as to what she was talking about.

Let’s not forget that Harris and the party of truth, along with the legacy news media, knew or should have known about a situation that threatened national security. She sat back and watched Joe Biden lose the ability to discharge the duties of the president. Harris willingly deceived Americans.

In sharp contrast, Donald Trump was able to connect with millions of Americans, in part because he understood what they cared about. He was authentic and entertaining while being open and empathetic. He was on the road for months listening to people’s stories of hardship and struggle, brought on by neglect from the administration.

They were far more interested in political correctness and DEI than solving issues that would make a real difference. As the left lectured us, Trump listened.

After suffering under the Biden-Harris administration’s mismanagement and policy failures, Americans were ready for much-needed change in direction. Trump was clear and unambiguous when he explained that he wanted Americans, not the federal government, in control of their lives and families.
