At the heart of a thriving educational system lies the indispensable foundation of trust. Trust is the cornerstone that upholds the delicate balance among students, educators, parents, administrators, and school committee, forming the anchor of effective communication and collaboration. When trust is present, it creates a secure and supportive environment where students feel empowered to explore, learn, and express themselves freely. Educators, in turn, are better equipped to nurture the intellectual and emotional development of their students.

Furthermore, parents are more likely to engage actively in their child’s education when they trust that the educational system is committed to the well-being and progress of their children. Trust within the educational system is not merely a desirable element; it is an essential catalyst for creating an atmosphere conducive to learning, growth and development.

There is positive reception from Erving teachers toward Principal David Krane, and that is undoubtedly a promising step forward. However, Erving Elementary School’s ultimate potential remains unrealized until trust permeates from all facets. When all stakeholders model trust and demonstrate respect consistently, it creates a ripple effect throughout the school community. Students feel secure and motivated to engage actively in their learning journey, educators feel supported and can innovate and implement effective teaching strategies, and parents become more involved in the educational process.

The teachers of Erving Elementary want to express a sincere appreciation for the exemplary leadership demonstrated by Principal Krane since assuming his role at Erving Elementary.

Krane stepped into the position in the midst of a crisis, facing numerous challenges that required immediate attention. His commitment to the well-being of our students, educators, and staff has been nothing short of commendable. In the face of adversity, he has worked tirelessly to address the pressing issues and set our school on a path toward stability.

His dedication, resilience, and strategic approach have been instrumental in navigating these complexities. We recognize the hard work and sacrifices made to address challenges and steer Erving Elementary in a positive direction. We are grateful for the principal’s leadership and the positive impact he has had on our school community. As we move forward, we stand united in supporting his efforts to create an environment that fosters growth, learning, and success for all. Thank you, Principal Krane, for your unwavering commitment to Erving Elementary.

Taking all of this into consideration, we are compelled to address the disconnect between the School Committee and the school leadership and educators. For far too long now, the disrespect shown by some of the committee members toward Principal Krane was shameful. Conducting public forums in that manner is counterproductive and reflects poorly on the unity of our leadership and educators.

It is disheartening to witness, and in addition, the absence of an apology further exacerbates the impact on our educational community. It is time to demonstrate a united front and address concerns through constructive dialogue rather than indirect criticisms.

We believe in the potential of positive change and look forward to witnessing the School Committee’s renewed responsibility to professionalism, collaboration and respect in our future interactions.
