Two of the Pioneer Valley’s leading musician-activists, Charlie King and Annie Patterson, are appearing in concert together at Mount Toby Friends Meeting in Leverett on Sunday at 7 p.m.

King is a nationally-recognized political satirist and musical storyteller, fashioning songs of humor, heartache and hope for more than 45 years. Patterson is a co-creator of the best-selling songbook Rise Up Singing and its 2015 sequel Rise Again.

The two have frequently performed and recorded together throughout the Northeast. In fact, King’s most recent album, “Life & Love, Tears & Laughter” features Patterson’s harmonies. Together, their energy and humor are an infectious combination, empowering hope and energy for change in audiences wherever they go.

The duo are making a live concert recording at the Leverett venue, at 194 Long Plain Road. Audience members will lend their voices to the choruses at the concert. King and Patterson plan to take this new live CD on the road in 2019.

A $15 donation is suggested for admission. For more information, visit riseupandsing.org/events, email events@riseupandsing.org or call 413-256-8596.
