Sawmill River Arts seeks submissions for Small Works Exhibit and Sale

MONTAGUE — The Sawmill River Arts Gallery at 440 Greenfield Road invites local artists to submit work to the 10th annual Small Works Exhibit and Sale taking place from Feb. 4 through Feb. 26. Submissions are due Jan. 29.

This open and non-juried show seeks original two- and three-dimensional pieces of visual art across all media and subject matter. Pieces must be 10 inches by 10 inches or smaller, and must be ready to hang or display securely.

Due to space limitations, artists may submit one or two pieces. The first 80 submitted pieces will be accepted.

The entry fee to participate is $5 per piece. Work must be available for sale at an amount no less than $36; the Sawmill River Arts Gallery receives a 20% commission if the work sells during the show.

The exhibit’s opening reception will be held on Sunday, Feb. 4, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Artists should bring their completed applications and artwork to the Sawmill River Arts Gallery, located at the Montague Bookmill complex. All information, including applications and labels, can be found at sawmillriverarts.com. Hard copies are also available at the gallery, which is open Thursday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
