Dispatcher steps down from full-time position

MONTAGUE — Dispatcher Lynne Meehan has stepped down from her full-time position after 15 years of service.

Meehan wrote in her resignation letter to the Selectboard that the decision was “very hard,” but “the right decision for (herself) and (her) family.” She requested to be a per diem dispatcher to help with shifts and training as needed.

Selectboard OKs pay increase for dispatchers

MONTAGUE — The Selectboard met with Police Chief Christopher Williams and Lt. Chris Bonnett during a Sept. 7 meeting to address an ongoing issue with dispatch center staffing.

Pressured by losing multiple dispatchers due to attrition and other departments paying more competitively, the Selectboard unanimously approved an agreement raising pay for dispatchers to a rate near typical in the region.

“This is merely placing our employees at a competitive point with others in the region,” Bonnett said.
