Montague Police Logs: Sept. 7 to Sept. 12, 2021

Montague, Sept. 7

2:39 p.m. — Caller on K Street reports a green bicycle with orange wheels and a basket was stolen between Sept. 1 and Sept. 7. The caller later called back to say they were contacted on Facebook by someone who had seen a similar bike headed toward Unity Park on the bike path five to 10 minutes prior.

2:52 p.m. — State Police out on Avenue A for a motor vehicle accident with minor injuries.

8:12 p.m. — Caller on G Street reports her boyfriend, who has diabetes, was taken by taxi to a doctor’s appointment in Millers Falls and didn’t return. The appointment was at 4 p.m. When she called his phone, a woman answered and said she found the phone somewhere. The caller said if she didn’t hear from her boyfriend by the end of the night, she’d report him missing.

Montague, Sept. 8

2:00 p.m. — Caller on K Street reports a black BMX bicycle and green wagon were stolen between Sept. 7 and Sept. 8.

7:54 p.m. — Caller on East Main Street said he has a loaner vehicle from a shop in Agawam that is fixing his car and someone stole the catalytic converter off of the loaner vehicle.

Montague, Sept. 9

1:58-3:37 p.m. — Caller from Moltenbrey Apartments on Avenue A said he just discovered that a friend had stolen some personal identification items after he’d stayed over earlier in the week. After the caller declined to fill out a report, another caller called back on his behalf to fill one out.

3:56 p.m. — Caller on Oakman Street reports her daughter missing. Last seen around 3:15 p.m. outside talking to strangers who had a dog. She left her backpack behind. After contacting State Police to issue an Amber Alert, and Gill and Turners Falls fire departments for assistance, Police Chief Christopher Williams advised they located the girl at 67 Oakman St.

5:51 p.m. — Caller from Third Street reports her son ran away. He was brought home by the school resource officer that day and was told to stay in his room. Caller said another child told her that her son had left the house, but didn’t know where he was. Caller later called back to inform police her son had returned home.

Montague, Sept. 10

11:29 a.m. — Caller from Dry Hill Road reports that two dark-colored dogs, believed to be German shepherds, had been loose in the area for the past few days. They didn’t appear aggressive, but one of them came into the caller’s yard and snatched a rabbit from the cage it was in.

4:04 p.m. — Caller from Keith Apartments on Canal Street reports his front window was pushed in while he was away and that his lockbox was missing. He was advised not to touch anything by the window. A detective responded.

Montague, Sept. 11

7:35 a.m. — Caller from Keith Apartments on Canal Street reports a woman who was on Avenue A near Hubie’s Tavern stole his lockbox. Caller didn’t reference the previous night’s call about a similar incident. After police couldn’t find the woman, the caller said she called him and told him she’d return the box for $20.

7:38 a.m. — Caller near Rau’s Sunoco Service on Turners Falls Road said her dog has been missing since around midnight. The dog, named Mrs. Pickle, is black and white with a curly tail, about 25 pounds and has a bright pink collar.

Montague, Sept. 12

1:03 p.m. — Caller from Park Villa Drive reports that other residents told her someone hit her parked car the day before. Police were advised the parties would work out the issue between themselves.

1:31 p.m. — Caller from River Road in Deerfield reports a woman carrying a gun and talking to herself while walking down the road. Call transferred to Deerfield Police.

1:39 p.m. — A fire occurred inside an air cleaning machine at Mayhew Steel Products, 199 Industrial Blvd.
