Montague Police Logs: Sept. 3 to Sept. 8, 2024

Tuesday, Sept. 3

8:39 a.m. — Walk-in to the station states she was scammed and lost several thousand dollars. Report taken.

12:10 p.m. — Multiple callers reporting a transformer on fire at Second Street and Avenue A. Eversource notified.

6:25 p.m. — Caller states a woman came to her house on Third Street and threatened her about paying money. Caller states she doesn’t owe her anything and she doesn’t know who the female is. Advised of options.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

10:13 a.m. — Caller on Fifth Street reports a truck is being filled up with garbage and the driver is taking it to a nearby dumpster and throwing the trash in. One male party admitted to throwing trash in there. He retrieved the bags he threw in.

3:29 p.m. — Officer conducting a traffic stop on Turnpike Road. Dakarai Charles Crapps, 51, of Turnpike Road in Turners Falls, was arrested on a warrant and two counts of possession of a Class B drug (subsequent offense).

Thursday, Sept. 5

6:05 p.m. — Reporting party states a vehicle stopped on Millers Falls Road and someone threw glass bottles out the window. Caller states there is glass all over the road. Officer advising he spoke to the neighbors, who said the remains of a ceramic plate and spoon were on top of his car and fell off while driving away. Someone with a leaf blower blew the remains out of the roadway.

Friday, Sept. 6

10:35 a.m. — Reporting party on Second Street would like it on record that on Sept. 3, a tenant of hers answered the door holding a knife. Reporting party is the landlord and was there with another agency to check the apartment. Caller advises once they got in, the tenant held onto the knife the whole time. Services rendered.

2:18 p.m. — Reporting party from G Street would like it on record that his bicycle was stolen from his front porch. Described as a black mountain bike with the word “GIANT” in blue lettering on the frame. Services rendered.

10:38 p.m. — Turners Falls Fire Department responded to the Moltenbrey Apartments on Avenue A for a fire alarm sounding. Was a malicious pull. Multiple residents report seeing a male and female pull fire alarm then run off. Cameras are in the building.

Saturday, Sept. 7

10:25 a.m. — Multiple calls report a scam post on the “Everything Turners Falls/Montague” Facebook page shows a photo of a small child, approximately 3 years old. The post states the boy “was found last night walking behind a home in Turners Falls. Deputy Sam Jenson saved him and took him to the Police Station, but no one has any idea where he lives. The neighbors don’t know him or how he got there. He says his mom’s name is Ella.” Post was created under a fake account by the name of Pamela Sanders. Officers advised.

5:57 p.m. — Reporting party states that a male party is under the bridge on Spring Street yelling obscenities and she has her 9-year-old grandchild with her who can hear everything. Officer spoke with the male party who was on his phone and went under the bridge when it started raining.

Sunday, Sept. 8

7:09 p.m. — Reporting party on Veterans Street states he had an Amazon package delivered at 6:20 p.m. with a picture confirmation and the package was stolen. He does not have cameras, would like the incident on record. Services rendered.
