Montague Police Logs: Oct. 4 to Oct. 10, 2021

Montague, Oct. 4

6:31 a.m. — Caller on Lake Pleasant Road wants a call placed to the railroad to have it turn the train’s volume down.

10:29 a.m. — Caller from Keith Apartments on Canal Street is concerned about repeated disturbances where someone has been banging on doors at night. Those in the complex are concerned someone is trying to break in.

Montague, Oct. 5

8:57 p.m. — Caller from near 425 Federal St. said she hit a deer. The deer ran off, but she wanted an officer to respond.

10:50 p.m. — Walk-in from Canal Street came to the station to report a dark blue four-door sedan had come over the bridge from Greenfield and almost hit two vehicles. Vehicle was traveling in the direction of Cumberland Farms. License plate may have begun with “6BX.”

Montague, Oct. 6

6:22 p.m. — Caller from Montague Avenue reports a single-vehicle accident. Vehicle almost went over the cliff. Caller said the driver was sleeping and snoring when she went to check on her. Montague Center Fire Department responded.

7:31 p.m. — Caller from South Prospect Street reports an unwanted person outside her home. Caller said she asked the party to leave, but she wouldn’t and was outside banging on the windows and screaming.

Montague, Oct. 8

2:50 p.m. — Caller from Park Street reports a minor two-vehicle accident.

6:04 p.m. — Walk-in from Fifth Street said she is receiving threatening letters from her ex-husband, who is incarcerated.

9:38 p.m. — Officer on Millers Falls Road conducted a traffic stop involving William Aaron Irene, 32, of Worcester, who had a warrant for his arrest. Irene was taken into custody. Rau’s Sunoco Service towed the vehicle.

Montague, Oct. 9

9:57 a.m. — Caller said she was on FaceTime with her daughter and witnessed a heated argument between her and her husband. The husband, Juan C. Vazquez, 46, of 171 Avenue A in Turners Falls, had an active warrant. When police arrived, he allegedly resisted arrest, but was detained and brought to the Police Station. He was released on bail.

10:24 a.m. — Caller from Davis Street said she came outside to her car in the morning and saw both mirrors had been vandalized. Caller was advised to come to the station for documentation.

Montague, Oct. 10

1:08 a.m. — Caller from K Street said a man was attempting to get into vehicles in the area. Caller said when the man spotted her, he took off on a white bike heading away from Avenue A. She said he wore a black jacket with a hood up and dark pants.

9:14 a.m. — Caller from Broadway in Lake Pleasant said his child’s mother came to his house to demand their child back, despite their agreed-upon pick-up time being 5 p.m. Caller said she was being aggressive and unreasonable. He said he turned over the child to avoid creating a greater problem and called police to have the incident on record. The mother also called police to report the man was not giving her all of the child’s clothes. The involved man’s parents brought her more clothing.
