Montague Police Logs: Oct. 18 to Oct. 20, 2021

Monday, Oct. 18

9:05 a.m. — Caller near the Montague Bookmill said the car in front of him, a white Toyota Camry, stopped and the driver got out and started yelling at the caller that he was following too closely. The woman then swung at the caller and knocked his hat off. When the caller left, the other vehicle reportedly followed him, was taking pictures and pulled in front of him to cut him off.

11:29 a.m. — Caller from the Patch section of Turners Falls reports the night before at around 8 p.m., her 12-year-old son was riding his bike home and a green Jeep was following him. Her son took off and the Jeep reportedly sped up to catch up with him. The caller said her son’s father noticed what was happening and came outside, and the Jeep took off.

2:38 p.m. — Walk-in reports a juvenile missing since 10:30 a.m. Officers responded to the residence where the juvenile was last seen and deployed a K-9. Greenfield Police sent out a drone. DPW worker spoke with the juvenile at around 11:30 a.m. at the power lines by Dry Hill Road. Juvenile made no mention of where he was going. State Police started the Air Wing. Juvenile was found on Old Greenfield Road by the train tracks at around 3:30 p.m. and was transported back to his residence.

Tuesday, Oct. 19

11:58 a.m. — A Scotty’s Convenience Store employee reports the tenants who live next to the store have gained access to their upstairs storage room.

4:28 p.m. — Caller from Solar Avenue reports the street sign was knocked down by an unknown vehicle.

Wednesday, Oct. 20

2:32 p.m. — Caller from Federal Street said his employee left work last night from 130 Industrial Blvd. and was followed by a maroon van with duct tape on the back. Caller said the employee reached speeds of 90 miles per hour attempting to lose the van. Caller said he terminated an employee a week ago who drives a similar vehicle.

9:30 p.m. — Caller from Montague City Road reports her husband was drunk and was threatening her. He left the house on foot. Police located the man sitting on the porch. He said he was waiting for a ride and did not appear heavily intoxicated. The man was picked up to stay at a friend’s house. Caller was advised of options.
