Montague Police Logs: Nov. 12 to Nov. 17, 2024

Tuesday, Nov. 12

9:04 a.m. — Officer requesting assistance with eviction clarification on J Street. Ronald Morris, 64, of J Street in Turners Falls, was arrested on a default warrant.

4:10 p.m. — Reporting party states there appears to be some damage behind a building on Canal Street and someone may have gained access to the building through a broken window using a ladder. No ladder seen in the area. Unable to tell what may be new damage or previous damage.

Wednesday, Nov. 13

12:17 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reports he received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. The caller asked for his Medicare number and he gave it to them. When he tried to call them back, the line was busy. He believes he was scammed and is nervous his money will be stolen. Advised of options.

4:36 p.m. — Walk-in to the station believes someone is “prowling around” their property on Turners Falls Road at night. Advised of options.

Thursday, Nov. 14

9:17 a.m. — Employee from the veterinary clinic on Millers Falls Road would like it on record that a Toyota van pulled in and an older woman was a passenger. The woman came into the clinic and was talking nonsensically. She got back in the van and left. A male party was driving. Reporting party thought it seemed strange.

11:40 a.m. — Reporting party states there are two cars parked on the sidewalk on Unity Street, making pedestrians walk in the road. Area checked, no cars found to be on the sidewalk.

4:29 p.m. — Reporting party states she observed all of the doors and the garage to a house on Dell Street open. Items were visible in the garage and curbside. No vehicles or subjects were observed on the property. Upon arrival, officers advised the doors were open, the oven was on and there was a cat inside. Officer will check back later but it does appear someone has been there doing a clean out. Returning to the property, an officer spoke with the parties there and closed their doors. Involved parties are in the process of moving out.

Friday, Nov. 15

9:09 a.m. — Caller from I Street states her back glass door is shattered and it looks like a BB gun shot through it. Officer advised.

Saturday, Nov. 16

1:56 p.m. — Employee at Chaos Corner on East Main Street would like it on record that they had an adult female customer come in that claimed to have found a pill inside their business. When the reporting party went to the area to double check, she found three more pills. The entire area had been cleaned prior to the arrival of the suspicious female. Reporting party is concerned the woman may have purposely left pills there to be found by a child.

4:50 p.m. — Officer was flagged down and told there were two kids trying to climb the fence around the old paper mill in Erving. Officer notified Erving Police. Officers made entry into the building and located the parties. Erving Police secured medical attention for one of the parties.

Sunday, Nov. 17

3:16 a.m. — Caller from Avenue A states she can overhear individuals in another apartment who are stating they are going to damage her vehicle or break into it. A previous call indicates similar call nature. Officer advised the reporting party of her options.
