Montague Police Logs: March 19 to March 24, 2024

Tuesday, March 19

4:25 p.m. — Thomas Matthews Jr., 35, of Richardson Road in Leverett, was arrested on a warrant on Millers Falls Road.

8:28 p.m. — Caller states her car was parked at a friend’s father’s house on 11th Street but the vehicle is now gone. Caller advises she has both sets of keys. Reporting party came to the station to fill out paperwork. Vehicle entered into the National Crime Information Center database as stolen.

Wednesday, March 20

7:59 a.m. — Caller from Third Street states she and her daughter have been constantly harassed by a male party who lives on the first floor. Reporting party states she called about the male last month, but advises he has not stopped making rude comments. Reporting party advises she and her daughter feel uncomfortable and request to speak to someone about their options.

9:48 a.m.-1:47 p.m. — Multiple 911 hang-up calls in the area of Fourth and Fifth streets. Party states she would like to order a pizza and hang ups. Unable to call back 911 only phone. Sounds like a child. When asked if the caller needed police, party said “you are stupid” and hung up. Officers checked the area, unable to locate.

4:39 p.m. — Reporting party from Greenfield Road states there was a man on her back deck and when the dog starting barking he took off into the woods. Caller would like an officer to drive through the area. Officers checked the area, nothing found.

Thursday, March 21

5:46 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a man walking his dog off leash on Coolidge Avenue. It’s becoming more frequent as the weeks go by and when she is out in the yard, the dog runs at her. Officer advised. Male party was advised of leash laws.

Friday, March 22

12:33 a.m. — Disturbance reported at Millers Pub on East Main Street. Parties separated following a verbal altercation.

4:17 p.m. — Caller states there is a brown and white dog running down Central Street. Officer advised.

10:53 a.m. — Power lines on fire on Meadow Road. Road shut down at Ferry Road, barricades up. Eversource was contacted.

11:53 p.m. — Reporting party from Central Street states he and his girlfriend went to the store and were jumped. He states his girlfriend’s nose is bleeding but she doesn’t want any medical attention at this time. Reporting party states they took everything out of his pockets and was able to name four males that were involved. Officer requested an ambulance.

Sunday, March 24

5:20 p.m. — Report of four teenagers (approximately 13 or 14 years old) throwing things from the train trestle bridge in the vicinity of North Leverett Road. Objects appear to be sections of pipe and rocks/gravel. Three males and one female. Subjects have been hanging out there for a good part of the day, but only started throwing things in the past 20 minutes. Officer advised. Parties gone on arrival, debris observed and removed.
