8:25 a.m. — Caller from Moltenbrey Apartments at Avenue A reports a male and female trying to enter the building with a pen knife. The female then went to another part of the building, climbed through the window and went to apartment 209. Caller requested police remain on the lookout as the individuals had left by the time of the call.

3:07 p.m. — Caller from Third Street states she received a phone call from a woman, claiming to be at Unity Park, who threatened to beat her up if she doesn’t return the money she took. Caller couldn’t provide a name or phone number, but spoke to an officer with concerns about her safety.

Friday, June 2

2:15 p.m. — An Aubuchon Hardware employee called police at the request of a man who said he was beaten up at Peskeomskut Park. Situation mediated. Parties were advised of their options.

3:57 p.m. — Caller from East Main Street reports a male in his backyard was riding an electric bicycle, fell off and was sleeping in the yard with a backpack over his head. Scott Panton, 58, homeless, was arrested on a warrant.

Saturday, June 3

3:28 a.m. — Chicopee Police Department requests police check an address on 11th Street for an involved vehicle. An involved female party borrowed the vehicle and hadn’t returned it as expected. Montague Police made contact with the female party and advised her to return the vehicle immediately or she would be charged with unauthorized use or stealing the vehicle. When police checked the residence later, the vehicle hadn’t been returned. Police had the vehicle towed and registered the vehicle as stolen.

12:30 p.m. — Caller from Red Fire Farm reports a male party at the farm is screaming at people and refusing to leave. Gone upon police arrival. Caller and store owner provided a name. Police located the male party and set him up to receive help.

Sunday, June 4

12:08 a.m. — A citation was issued following a traffic stop near Rau’s Sunoco Service on Turners Falls Road.

Monday, June 5

3:13 p.m. — Caller from H Street states her little brother was bitten by a dog while walking home. He declined EMS, but went to the emergency room after speaking with police. Police followed up with the dog owner.

8:11 p.m. — Caller from L Street reports someone entered her vehicle and was caught on a security camera at 7:44 p.m. Caller was unsure if anything was stolen, but wanted to report the incident in case the female party was trying to enter other people’s vehicles, too. Police located a female party matching the description at The Country Creemee.

Tuesday, June 6

9:21 a.m. — Police observed a bear and four cubs crossing the road on Montague Street heading toward Dell Street.

1:58 p.m. — Caller from Bridge Street and the bridge over the Millers River reports what appears to be a vehicle upside down in the river underneath the train trestle. It turned out to not be a vehicle, but rather old train wheels sticking out of the water.

Wednesday, June 7

8:59 a.m. — Caller from North Leverett Road states he was involved in a collision with another vehicle. Airbags deployed and possible injuries. Police and Montague Center Fire Department responded. Both vehicles were towed. A female driver was taken by ambulance to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

9:33 p.m. — Multiple callers from behind the Shea Theater Arts Center on Avenue A report an assault. Suspect left in a black SUV heading toward Greenfield. A female party then called stating the male party who started the fight had driven by twice and yelled out the window that he was going to “spray” people. He was reported to be driving a black Jeep with two red lines on top. Both he and the victim go by the nickname “Gobby.” An additional caller said her daughter was sitting outside and saw the SUV drive through the parking lot the wrong way twice. Police could not locate him.

Thursday, June 8

2:19 a.m. — Caller from Ivy Street reports someone tried to steal his daughter’s car. He said the car was a Hyundai or Kia, but could not provide a description of the person. The only description provided to police was a “dark shadow.” Unable to locate.

4:01 a.m. — Caller reports her car hit a boulder in the roadway along Turners Falls Road. She called from Greenfield, so the call was transferred to the Greenfield Police Department.

Friday, June 9

2:05 p.m. — Caller from an apartment building on Avenue A states someone is loitering on his property and he wants them removed prior to him showing up that night or else there would be a fight. Gone on arrival.

2:40 p.m. — Shelburne Control Dispatch Center advised they received an erratic operation call. The vehicle might have been headed toward Montague.

Saturday, June 10

12:31 p.m. — Caller from Food City on Avenue A reports a woman stole more than $30 worth of alcohol after doing the same thing the day before. Woman was no longer on scene.

11:10 p.m. — Caller from Fourth Street states their son stole a girl’s cell phone as a joke, took off running and wouldn’t give it back so the girl could leave. He was on Avenue A at the time of the call. Upon police arrival, the phone had been returned.

Sunday, June 11

12:14 p.m. — Caller from the Silvio O. Conte Anadromous Fish Research Laboratory reports someone on a paddle board in the power canal. Police advised the paddle boarder to come out of the water.

4:23 p.m. — Caller from Second Street reports kids in the area are throwing bricks at her building and tossing around materials there for a construction project.

Monday, June 12

8:04 p.m. — Caller from Second St. reports a man was yelling at a family near the parking lot behind the Shea Theater Arts Center on Avenue A. Man later called to say the situation had escalated. An officer advised there was no disturbance, but officers remained in the area for some time.

11:59 p.m. — Caller from K Street reports that someone assaulted him and left him disabled. Caller then began speaking with a person near him who seemed to be making amends. He then asked to be driven outside the jurisdiction, but police advised they were not able to do so and would send officers for the assault. Police mediated the situation and separated the two male parties for the night.

Tuesday, June 13

2:13 p.m. — Caller from 11th Street reports a large snapping turtle in the road, states that people are concerned for the turtle’s safety. An animal control officer responded and checked the area but found no turtle.

4:02 p.m. — Caller from Taylor Hill Road reports a tree fell on electrical lines, causing a brush fire. Eversource responded. Fire was extinguished.

Wednesday, June 14

8:50 a.m. — Caller from North Street reports three dogs are running loose on the street. Owner surrendered the four puppies to the responding animal control officer who took them to the shelter.

6:22 p.m. — Francis Perry, 51, of Avenue A in Turners Falls, was charged with larceny under $1,200 after a caller from Connecticut River Liquor and Wine reported video footage of her shoplifting from Sunday, June 11, at 5 p.m.

Thursday, June 15

1:13 p.m. — Utility pole on fire on Power Street. Eversource planned to respond by 2 p.m.

9:25 p.m. — Caller from Third Street reports a male party punched her car twice after following her in his vehicle down Avenue A and cutting her off on Third Street. Caller asked about cameras in the area, hoping to identify the male to fix the damage. Officer advised her of her options. She planned to fill out a statement at the Police Station.

Friday, June 16

2:01 p.m. — Caller from Avenue A reports a female party was at Between the Uprights, yelling that she was going to pull the fire alarm. An officer reported the female was approaching the building upon arrival and several people nearby stated she was not in the building.

Saturday, June 17

9:29 a.m. — Store manager of Food City on Avenue A advises an officer of recent shoplifting involving a male party. A summons was issued to the individual.

Sunday, June 18

11:10 a.m. — Caller from Fourth Street reports he woke up at 4:15 a.m. to find a man in his bedroom. Caller yelled at the man before he started running. Caller chased him out of the building and down the street, but the man got away with money from a pair of the caller’s jeans and his cell phone.

12:34 p.m. — Caller from Between the Uprights on Avenue A reports a female screaming outside the building.

Monday, June 19

4:21 p.m. — Caller from Turners Falls Road reports a male is shooting a gun out the passenger-side window of a white Honda CRV and speeding toward town after erratically leaving a driveway near the cemetery. Gone on arrival.

8:35 p.m. — Caller from Central Street reports a male party is harassing and threatening the downstairs neighbors. Two officers were advised.

Tuesday, June 20

6:46 a.m. — Caller reports a vehicle off the roadway by the Newton Street railroad underpass. Caller described the car as a tan four-door sedan. A second caller reported that the vehicle was in a ditch with visible damage to the windshield and a large section of the vehicle. Both callers said they saw no individuals in the area.

7:12 a.m. — Caller reports her adult son is throwing food everywhere and is out of control. An officer advised the caller of her court options and the male party left the residence to calm down.

Wednesday, June 21

3:47 p.m. — Caller reports a crash at the intersection of Park and Unity streets. No injuries or fluid reported. An officer requested EMS for a patient evaluation and Rau’s Sunoco Service towed one of the vehicles before the officer advised they tow the second vehicle as well.

9:21 p.m. — Caller from Walgreens on Avenue A reports a male party is attempting to pry open the door to the store. Caller was sitting in her car after she closed the store. An officer told the male party to leave and said the door suffered no damage.

Thursday, June 22

11:04 a.m. — Caller from Second Street reports that residents broke into the locked third floor of her building by tearing down the doors and were doing drugs. The locks were changed and the building was secured.

1:43 p.m. — Caller from Country Club Lane reports a big black bear in her yard, states she is concerned for her children’s safety. An officer was advised before she called back to say the bear was now on Oakman Street headed toward Dell Street.

4:49 p.m. — Caller from between L and Fifth streets reports a child is driving a go-kart without a helmet. Gone on arrival.

Friday, June 23

6:20 p.m. — Caller from Randall Wood Drive and Randall Road reports someone is setting off fireworks nearby.

Saturday, June 24

2:32 p.m. — Individual reports someone stole the veteran’s flag holder from St. Anne’s Cemetery on Turners Falls Road.

2:48 p.m. — Caller from the Cutlery Block on Third Street reports suspected drug activity behind the building.

Sunday, June 25

6:58 a.m. — Maria Lynn Hague, 32, of Avenue A in Turners Falls, was arrested on four counts of breaking and entering into vehicles with intent to commit a misdemeanor. A caller had reported seeing a woman, later identified as Hague, taking items from two vehicles, including a silver Toyota Highlander and a maroon Buick sedan. An officer later reported that Hague entered four vehicles, opened their glove compartments and threw the items about the vehicles. Police brought Hague to the Franklin County Jail and House of Correction. Her bail was posted at $3,000.

Monday, June 26

8:33 p.m. — Caller from Federal St. reports a two-vehicle crash involving no injuries or fluids. Caller reports there is an 8-month-old child in one of the cars. Medical services were declined. An officer initially requested Rau’s Sunoco Service for a tow, but later canceled the request as the registered owner was trying to get the vehicle home.

Tuesday, June 27

4:31 p.m. — Caller from Brick & Feather Brewery on 11th Street reports water is rushing out of a crack in the road, suspects a water main break. An officer advised water was gushing from approximately five different spots. A message was left for the Turners Falls Water Department. Police informed the brewery that the water had been shut off.
