Wednesday, Dec. 27

5:44 p.m. — Caller from Cumberland Farms on Montague City Road states that while she was in the store, her granddaughter was approached by a man who asked her to roll down the car window but she refused. Caller asked the party what he was doing and he told her that whoever her granddaughter married was going to be a lucky guy. Caller thought it was strange and made her feel uneasy. She wanted the incident on record.

Thursday, Dec. 28

2:11 a.m. — An employee at the Nouria gas station on Third Street reports he was held up at gunpoint by an individual wearing a black mask. Roughly $350 was taken. No injuries. Individual left on foot heading northbound. Greenfield Police and State Police were contacted to assist, as well as a K-9 unit. Unable to locate.

6:18 a.m. — Caller on Fourth Street states her cellphone was taken at a friend’s house yesterday. Involved female party said she was waiting for a male party to return it but he had not. Officer advised.

5:18 p.m. — Walk-in requests to speak to an officer regarding a scam that has turned into threats. Officer spoke to the female party who would just like it on record.

Friday, Dec. 29

11:39 a.m. — Caller reports her vehicle was sideswiped by another driver in the parking lot of Food City on Avenue A.

8:50 p.m. — Caller states there are cars parked on Prospect Street, making it hard for other vehicles to drive by. Officer checked the area. Road is passable. A Christmas party is finishing up and cars are leaving.

Saturday, Dec. 30

7:00 p.m. — Officer assisted with a vehicle that was pulled over on Federal Street. Child was carsick. Officer stood by until the vehicle moved along.

Sunday, Dec. 31

11:06 p.m. — Caller on Crescent Street requests to speak to an officer. She states someone has gotten into her house and she doesn’t know how.

5:38 p.m. — Caller on Avenue A requests a well-being check on a neighbor who is banging on the walls and throwing items into the hallway. Kriston E. Messman, 45 of Avenue A in Turners Falls, was arrested on a warrant.

Tuesday, Jan. 2

12:39 p.m. — Property manager on L Street states there is a male party living in the basement of the building. He is not wanted there and is refusing to leave. Property manager was advised of options.

2:23 p.m. — Caller reports there was an elderly male threatening him and his friends in the alleyway on Third Street. Area checked, unable to locate.

Wednesday, Jan. 3

8:39 a.m. — Animal control officer advising he picked up a white and gray female pit bull wearing a harness on 11th Street. Dog was brought to the shelter.

Thursday, Jan. 4

12:06 a.m. — Caller on Avenue A states there is a black or gray SUV parked in front of the building that has been playing loud music for more than three hours. Upon arrival, officer advised the music from the vehicle was at an appropriate volume but the driver stated they would turn it down.

9:42 a.m. — Caller from Walnut Street reports there is a three-wheeler in the backyard that does not belong to anyone there and also states a former tenant may have broken into an apartment. Three-wheeler belongs to the son of a resident of the building.

8:36 p.m. — Caller reports a male party is near the side of the Turners Falls-Gill Bridge. Worried he may not be safe. Officer didn’t observe anything suspicious on the bridge.

Friday, Jan. 5

9:03 a.m. — Greenfield Police advising they received a 911 open line from a number mapping at Franklin County Technical School. No sounds of distress in the background. School resource officer was advised.

Saturday, Jan. 6

11:12 a.m. — Report of a loose horse on Turners Falls Road. Horse was corralled and owner was notified.

1:37 p.m. — Caller on Third Street reports ongoing harassment by his neighbor. Was advised of his civil court options.

Sunday, Jan. 7

8:51 a.m. — Officer came across a car that had crashes into a utility pole at Turners Falls Road and George Avenue. Pole was broken. Eversource was notified. Rau’s Sunoco Service was called to tow the vehicle.

9:37 a.m. — Caller states their pickup truck is on fire in the driveway on Greenfield Road. Fire is not threatening the residence.

4:25 p.m. — Caller from Coolidge Avenue states he was plowing and a male party threatened to hit him with a shovel. Officer advised it was a verbal disagreement, situation mediated.

10:03 p.m. — Caller at 10th and G streets reports a large white dog with a red collar lunged at him and tried to attack him, but did not bite him. Caller states this is an ongoing issue and the owner was nearby but did not have control over the dog. Copy of the call was left for the animal control officer.
