Veterans services offered monthly

ERVING — The Erving Senior & Community Center at 1 Care Drive offers veterans services on the first Wednesday of every month from 1 to 3 p.m.

Social painting offered at library

ERVING — The Erving Public Library will host social painting parties Wednesday, Nov. 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. Participants of all abilities are welcome. Food will be provided.

4D1G Ministries holding annual Christmas concert

TURNERS FALLS — 4D1G Ministries will hold its ninth annual Christmas Carol Sing & Concert at the Ja’Duke Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m.

This free event will include the 4D1G quartet, a variety of singers and musicians, and a chance to sing traditional Christmas carols. For more information, visit 4D1G.org.

Center hosting Holiday Bazaar

ERVING — The Erving Senior & Community Center will host a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be door prizes, raffle prizes, handcrafted gifts, baked goods, home décor, an auction table, food, maple products and jewelry.

Sand, salt mix available for Erving seniors

ERVING — Seniors who are interested in getting a bucket of sand and salt mix to quell icy walkway and driveway conditions this winter are encouraged to bring an empty bucket to the Erving Senior & Community Center, and include their address and phone number. The Fire Department will then return the filled buckets to their homes.

TURNERS FALLS — Our Lady of Czestochowa at 84 K St. will hold its St. Nicholas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community is invited to this Polish-themed Christmas fair.

The event will feature a wide variety of Polish food for sale including smoked kielbasa, Polish bread, cheese babka and bigos. Bigos, the national dish of Poland, is a hunter’s stew that combines several different kielbasas, ham, veal, pork, cabbage, sauerkraut, onions, mushrooms, wine, prunes, sugar and marjoram.

The St. Hyacinth Pierogi Makers will be selling their famous overstuffed pierogi in frozen half dozen packages. The pierogi are available in farmers cheese, sauerkraut, and potato and cheese.

A luncheon featuring a Polish menu is available, which includes a Polish Plate for $12 and homemade corn chowder for $5. Coffee, doughnuts and freshly made muffins will be available in the morning.

In addition, there is a large bake sale, arts and crafts, honey, maple syrup and unique raffle items.
