MONROE — This week, a demolition team collapsed the top floor of the three-story wooden mill building that was in danger of falling into the Deerfield River.

According to Jessica Atwood, economic development program manager of the Franklin Regional Council of Governments, the next step will be to remove the debris with the crane and dumpsters, before the lower floors can be taken down.

After this section of the former Ramage Paper Mill is gone, the land will remain in permanent preservation, and an overlook park will be created there.
