MONROE — With no election contests and no new contenders, only 14 of the town’s 80 voters came to the polls Monday to re-elect eight current town officials.

Those who cast their ballots in the annual town election also supported a debt exclusion ballot question that would let the town temporarily raise taxes above the 2½ percent levy limit, so that this town of 120 people can borrow money to upgrade its wastewater treatment plant.  No sum was listed on the ballot, but Town Clerk/Administrative Assistant Marcella Stafford-Gore said the amount needed is “just under $50,000.”

Those re-elected to three-year terms are:

David Gagne, to his seat on the Selectboard/Board of Health/Planning Board; Raynold Passardi, Finance Committee; Library Trustee Betsy Bizarro; and Constable Carla Davis-Little.

For one-year terms, the following incumbents were re-elected: Moderator Norman Goddermote; Town Clerk Marcella Stafford Gore; Auditor Carla Davis-Little; and Tree Warden Raynold Passardi. No one was on the ballot for a vacant three-year term on the School Committee.
