SHELBURNE — Bonnie Brown gave Shelburne Center customers a good breakfast/lunch eatery during her years at the Trail TOC Diner; and people missed it when Brown relocated to Greenfield.

Michael Johnson is now serving that breakfast and lunch crowd at Michael’s Cafe & Catering at 1105 Mohawk Trail, in the Arrowhead Plaza. Michael’s serves breakfast, lunch and Friday-Saturday night dinners.

The interior has a new look, with a deeper, earth-toned taupe walls, wood paneling and small tables that have replaced the long counter. There is still Wi-Fi for customers.

“Everything here is made from scratch,” says Johnson, who ran the Meadows Restaurant in Greenfield before heading to the Shelburne. Lunch includes a choice of about a dozen, eight-ounce “Gourmet Burgers” served with fresh-cut fries. There are Reuben sandwiches, children’s fare and salad plates, such as a popular chicken taco salad. Appetizers include chili cheese fries, potato skins, nachos and chicken wings.

Breakfast offerings include five varieties of eggs Benedict, omelets, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches and Texas French toast that is served with maple butter, homemade fruit compotes and whipped cream.

The restaurant is open daily for breakfast and lunch from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also, on Friday and Saturday, dinner is served from 4 to 8 p.m. Fresh seafood specialties are on the menu Friday night; prime rib is the Saturday night special.
