A medical helicopter was called for the second week in a row for an injury sustained at Berkshire East Mountain Resort in Charlemont.
At around noon on Saturday, Charlemont and Colrain ambulances were dispatched to the resort for a serious injury. It was determined a medical helicopter was needed and Mohawk Trail Regional School’s parking lot in Buckland was cleared out to serve as the landing zone.
Charlemont Ambulance Director Dana Johnson said he could not provide many details because of privacy laws. He added it was not a bike accident, unlike last weekend’s incident.
“We responded to an injured party at Berkshire East,” Johnson said.
The Albany Medical Center helicopter landed at Mohawk Trail Regional School at 1 p.m. Soon after, the ambulance transporting the injured party arrived and the helicopter began the flight to a trauma center at 1:16 p.m.
