The next event transitioning to the virtual world amid the COVID-19 pandemic is a job expo, which the MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center is organizing for Monday, June 22, at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, June 24, at 4 p.m.

According to a MassHire press release, this free virtual job fair brings together 30 employers from Franklin and Hampshire counties, the North Quabbin area and beyond who are looking for new workers in a wide range of industries including health care, manufacturing, landscaping, administration, warehousing, transportation, education and banking.

“The June Virtual Job Expo is our first virtual recruitment event and we plan to offer more virtual events in the future,” said Penni Menard, business services representative with MassHire.

Job seekers will have access to company and job information and can connect directly with employers via links on the job expo’s webpage. According to the release, the only difference between a traditional job fair and a virtual job expo is everyone will experience the recruitment event through their computers, smart phones and tablets.

For those without internet or electronic access, the MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center offers hard copy Hot Jobs Lists, which are available for pickup in the hallway outside the Greenfield Career Center at 1 Arch Place in Greenfield.

The 30 companies participating in the June Virtual Job Expo are: Almadan, Balance Staffing, Behavioral Health Network, Berkshire East Mountain Resort, Beyond Green Construction, BFAIR, Brattleboro Retreat, Center School, CharterNEX Films, Community Action Pioneer Valley, Cooley Dickinson Health, Covestro, Deerfield Packaging/Mayhew, Gandara, Goulet Trucking, Greenfield Savings Bank, Hillside Plastics, Lightlife Foods, Long Falls Paperboard, Loomis Communities, Masiello Employment Services, O’Connell Care at Home, Pathlight Group, Reliable Temps, River Valley Co-op, ServiceNet, TravelKuz, United Personnel, UPS and Yankee Candle.

The job expo is open to anyone looking for a job or wanting to learn more about jobs and employers in the region, the release states. Advance registration is required. Job seekers who are already members of the MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center can call 413-774-4361 to register. Those who are not yet members must create a profile on MassHire Job Quest at bit.ly/3e8W62S before calling the career center to register.

Job seekers in need of help with a resume can also contact the center to register for a resume webinar. The release states that staff members can assist with the job search process, offering input, for example, on cover letter writing and interviewing techniques.

Job seekers looking for more information should call the MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center at 413-774-4361. Employers needing more information should email Penni and Marija at bizteam@masshirefhcareers.org.
